How to get here

By sea: From Orkney mainland, take a ferry from Houton to Lyness with Orkney Ferries. We are 6 miles from Lyness.

By car/bike: From Lyness ferry terminal follow the road for about half a mile until you reach a T junction. Turn right onto the B9048 and follow the road for about 6 miles. Just before a causeway (The Ayre) turn right. Follow the coastal road for about half a mile to reach the museum.

By bus: The Island of Hoy Development Trust run a bus service including Moaness, Lyness and Longhope. Our museum is less than half a mile from the road end. See here for updated bus information.
